Whatipu

The closest spot to Auckland city for waveriding in our opinion. On a day with not too much wind you'll find this place to be very good. It's a bit of a mission as the last 6ks of the drive is gravel track. This beach also has a spot for some flatland. So yeah, if you get sick of waveriding, You can very easily set up rails here. Whatipu is overall the perfect all-round beach. Only downfall would be the drive to get there.

Bethells

A very chill skimboarding spot. Always consistant, youre allways guarenteed a good skim here. Theres two parts to it, one being the river/lake, which becomes a bit dry in the peak of summer, and sometimes you'll find there won't be enough water. Towards the start and end of summer are the best times to skim there. The second part to the beach would be where the river meets the sea.. On low tide it has the capability to have a skim-park set up here. Also on full tide a bay over from Bethells, Heading towards O'Neills Bay theres some potential to waveride, but very little. Good for practising.

Onemana

New Zealands most consistant skim beach. Located 5 minutes north of Whangamata in the Coromandel. This beach is know for its ruthless, punishing and scary shore break. The waves break right on the beach at sometimes double overhead. When there is swell, this beach is a wake up call to anyone who considers themselves to be a great skimboarder. Also home of the Onemana skim Jam, held annually.

Langs Beach

This beach is a great spot for anyone looking to start out in waveriding, the slope is gentle and the waves allow you to have alot of fun. For waveriding must be skimmed on a full tide for best possible conditions. Langs is located 15 minutes North of Mangawai beach.

Omaha

Omaha is home of the Oxs skim crew. It has almost everything any type of skimboarder is looking for. The Omaha groynes allow for a nice shore break. Where the beach often contains massive tidle pools for flatland skimboarding and the estuary is a soft but gnarly flatland skim spot.
